Collaborative Sound Drawing Workshop
Anthropology Garden, Monday March 28th 2022

Facilitated by Georgia Golebiowski, Shireen McCormack and Ruby Carter

A collective experiment in shared experience of mapping sounds – our interpretations, placements, construction of visual language, illuminating the rich potential of sonic ethnography and exploration of embodied visual languages that are produced in response to the present moment. Exploring learning in a playful, imaginative and collective way. Engaging in active listening, field recordings, mark making and drawing. Inspired by the deep listening exercises of Pauline Oliveros, Tim Ingold’s theories of paying attention and soundscape, and the work of Salome Voegelin who writes of the possibility of sound.
